Measurement of wear position deviation caused by repeated use [PointShape Inspector]

Today we are going to compare the deviations of the part that are rotated repeatedly and wear due to friction.

Wear in industrial machinery is The most wear parts of industrial machines are engines, motors, etc. that do axial motion. If used for a long time without replacement in a worn condition, it may cause malfunction of the machine.

Therefore, it is important to periodically determine the wear rate and replace the equipment.

We have inspected by PointShape Inspector software to compare between CAD and Scan data. 

We have scanned 3 parts and red line marked are the area that we’ve inspected.
Those red marked area were compared by color map and the software will create multiple 2D sections to check details.

The software compared between CAD and Scan as the images above, and inspected the wear position every 30 degrees.

A total of six planes were created and the deviations of the sections extracted by Section Comparison function.
